In 1998, Cesario Fa decided to move away from the traditional musical production model he had been following for years being a Rap music producer in Marseille… He switched to improv and noise music, bending circuits and building his first electronic instruments. He’d play about a hundred concerts a year, one-night musical encounters and various group projects, creation for dance and theater, using a new instrument for each concert !
Thru gesture and even by creating new instrument he used “sensitive error” as a starting point in his creation, constantly changing his sound universes. According to him, error being essential to the creation of coherent and differentiated systems allowing to get out of the homogeneous continuum attached to modernity. His improvisations: abstract and raw works of astonishing complexity emphasized this canvas of possibilities.
Throughout the years his Circuit Bending Workshops turned into participative conference workshops on Error and its consequences in Creation. The wires, traces, wiring of short circuits then lead him to the modular synthesizer which became his favorite instrument.
He is currently developing – in co-production with Undead Instrument – a eurorack format game interface for modular synthesizer, the  « Marp Eigth » : an eightfold asynchronous arpeggiator using inertia.
Handling electroacoustic sound objects he is considering the possibility of carrying them to the limit of their deterioration, using this process to improvise using the complex rearrangement of structures on the spur of the moment thus playing with the benchmarks of the listener and his musical references.
Imagine a 220-volt electrified butterfly hazardously flying around prompting us to reconsider the relationship we have with our own perception.
